Based on the announcement made, the National Conference will contest for 51 seats of 90 assembly seats. Whereas, the Congress party will contest for 32 seats.
"We have left 1 seat for CPI (M) and 1 seat for Panthers Party..." said state Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra to reporters.

"National Conference will contest on 51 seats, Congress on 32 and we have agreed to have a friendly but disciplined contest on 5 seats. Over and above these 88 seats, we have left 1 seat for CPI (M) and 1 seat for Panthers Party," stated Karra.

Jammu and Kashmir will head to the polls in three different phases. As per the dates announced by the Election Commission of India, the polling across the union territory will be held in three phases - on September 18pera play, September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will be held on October 4.
